Wewerealwaysreadyforteaatanytime,andespeciallywhencombinedwithbeasts.Therewasmarmalade,too,andapricot-jam,broughtinexpresslyforus;andafterwardsthebeast-bookwasspreadout,and,asthemanhadtrulysaid,itcontainedeverysortofbeastthathadeverbeenintheworld.
Thestrikingofsixo’clocksetthemoreprudentCharlottenudgingme,andwerecalledourselveswithaneffortfromBeast-land,andreluctantlystooduptogo.
