           IthadbeenseveralyearssinceMinniehadseenCarrie,andinthattimethelatter’scharacterhaddevelopedafewshades.Naturallytimidinallthingsthatrelatedtoherownadvancement,andespeciallysowhenwithoutpowerorresource,hercravingforpleasurewassostrongthatitwastheonestayofhernature.Shewouldspeakforthatwhensilentonallelse.
