           "Mythoughtsnowbecamemoreactive,andIlongedtodiscoverthemotivesandfeelingsoftheselovelycreatures;IwasinquisitivetoknowwhyFelixappearedsomiserableandAgathasosad.Ithought(foolishwretch!)thatitmightbeinmypowertorestorehappinesstothesedeservingpeople.WhenIsleptorwasabsent,theformsofthevenerableblindfather,thegentleAgatha,andtheexcellentFelixflittedbeforeme.Ilookeduponthemassuperiorbeingswhowouldbethearbitersofmyfuturedestiny.Iformedinmyimaginationathousandpicturesofpresentingmyselftothem,andtheirreceptionofme.Iimaginedthattheywouldbedisgusted,until,bymygentledemeanourandconciliatingwords,Ishouldfirstwintheirfavourandafterwardstheirlove.
