           Whenthiswasdone,atagivensignal,theybegantoperformtheirmusictogether: thedonkeybrayed,thehoundbarked,thecatmewed,andtheroostercrowed; thentheyburstthroughthewindowintotheroom,sothattheglassclattered! Atthishorribledin,therobberssprangup, thinkingnootherwisethanthataghosthadcomein,andfledinagreatfrightoutintotheforest. Thefourcompanionsnowsatdownatthetable, wellcontentwithwhatwasleft,andateasiftheyweregoingtofastforamonth.
