           Shewentandopenedthedoor,andthefroghoppedinandfollowedher,stepbystep,toherchair. Therehesatandcried, "Liftmeupbesidethee." Shedelayed,untilatlasttheKingcommandedhertodoit. Whenthefrogwasonceonthechairhewantedtobeonthetable,andwhenhewasonthetablehesaid, "Now,pushthylittlegoldenplatenearertomethatwemayeattogether." Shedidthis,butitwaseasytoseethatshedidnotdoitwillingly. Thefrogenjoyedwhatheate,butalmosteverymouthfulshetookchokedher. Atlengthhesaid, "Ihaveeatenandamsatisfied;nowIamtired, carrymeintothylittleroomandmakethylittlesilkenbedready,andwewillbothliedownandgotosleep." 

           TheKing’sdaughterbegantocry,forshewasafraidofthecoldfrogwhichshedidnotliketotouch,andwhichwasnowtosleepinherpretty,cleanlittlebed. ButtheKinggrewangryandsaid, "Hewhohelpedtheewhenthouwertintroubleoughtnotafterwardstobedespisedbythee." Soshetookholdofthefrogwithtwofingers,carriedhimupstairs,andputhiminacorner. Butwhenshewasinbedhecrepttoherandsaid, "Iamtired,Iwanttosleepaswellasthou,liftmeuporIwilltellthyfather." Thenshewasterriblyangry,andtookhimupandthrewhimwithallhermightagainstthewall. "Now,thouwiltbequiet,odiousfrog,"saidshe.ButwhenhefelldownhewasnofrogbutaKing’ssonwithbeautifulkindeyes. Hebyherfather’swillwasnowherdearcompanionandhusband.
