           OverandoveragainDorianusedtoreadthisfantasticchapter,andthetwochaptersimmediatelyfollowing, inwhich,asinsomecurioustapestriesorcunningly-wroughtenamels,werepicturedtheawfulandbeautifulformsofthosewhomViceandBloodandWearinesshadmademonstrousormad: Filippo,DukeofMilan,whoslewhiswife,andpaintedherlipswithascarletpoisonthatherlovermightsuckdeathfromthedeadthinghefondled;
