AndsothefifthdaycamesincetheLadyÉowynwentfirsttoFaramir;andtheystoodnowtogetheroncemoreuponthewallsoftheCityandlookedout.Notidingshadyetcome,andallheartsweredarkened.Theweather,too,wasbrightnolonger.Itwascold.AwindthathadsprungupinthenightwasblowingnowkeenlyfromtheNorth,anditwasrising;butthelandsaboutlookedgreyanddrear.
Theywerecladinwarmraimentandheavycloaks,andoveralltheLadyÉowynworeagreatbluemantleofthecolourofdeepsummer-night,anditwassetwithsilverstarsabouthemandthroat.Faramirhadsentforthisrobeandhadwrappeditabouther;andhethoughtthatshelookedfairandqueenlyindeedasshestoodthereathisside.
