Allwassilent,savefortherumourofwarintheCitydownbelow,andtheyheardthewaterdrippingsadlyfromthedeadbranchesintothedarkpool.ThentheywentonthroughtheCitadelgate,wherethesentinelstaredattheminwonderanddismayastheypassedby.Turningwestwardtheycameatlengthtoadoorintherearwardwallofthesixthcircle.
