           Alicecouldnothelplaughingatthis,eveninthemidstofhertears.‘Canyoukeepfromcryingbyconsideringthings?’sheasked.

           ‘That’sthewayit’sdone,’theQueensaidwithgreatdecision:‘nobodycandotwothingsatonce,youknow.Let’sconsideryouragetobeginwithhowoldareyou?’

           ‘I’msevenandahalfexactly.
