           Thewolfliftedthelatch,thedoorflewopen,andwithoutsayingawordhewentstraighttothegrandmother’sbed,anddevouredher. Thenheputonherclothes,dressedhimselfinhercap,laidhimselfinbedanddrewthecurtains. 

           LittleRedRidingHood,however,hadbeenrunningaboutpickingflowers,andwhenshehadgatheredsomanythatshecouldcarrynomore,sherememberedhergrandmother,andsetoutonthewaytoher. 

           Shewassurprisedtofindthecottage-doorstandingopen,andwhenshewentintotheroom,shehadsuchastrangefeelingthatshesaidtoherself, "Ohdear!howuneasyIfeelto-day,andatothertimesIlikebeingwithgrandmothersomuch." Shecalledout,"Goodmorning," butreceivednoanswer; soshewenttothebedanddrewbackthecurtains.Therelayhergrandmotherwithhercappulledfaroverherface,andlookingverystrange. 

           "Oh!grandmother,"shesaid,"whatbigearsyouhave!" 

           "Thebettertohearyouwith,mychild,"wasthereply. 

           "But,grandmother,whatbigeyesyouhave!"shesaid. 

           "Thebettertoseeyouwith,mydear." 

           "But,grandmother,whatlargehandsyouhave!" 

           "Thebettertohugyouwith." 

           "Oh!but,grandmother,whataterriblebigmouthyouhave!" 

           "Thebettertoeatyouwith!" 

           Andscarcelyhadthewolfsaidthis,thanwithoneboundhewasoutofbedandswallowedupLittleRedRidingHood. 

           Whenthewolfhadappeasedhisappetite,helaydownagaininthebed,fellasleepandbegantosnoreveryloud
