           Sohecreptdownstairsandopenedthefrontdoorquitesoftly,andwentoutintothegarden.Butwhenthechildrensawhimtheyweresofrightenedthattheyallranaway,andthegardenbecamewinteragain.Onlythelittleboydidnotrun,forhiseyesweresofulloftearsthathedidnotseetheGiantcoming.AndtheGiantstoleupbehindhimandtookhimgentlyinhishand,andputhimupintothetree.Andthetreebrokeatonceintoblossom,andthebirdscameandsangonit,andthelittleboystretchedouthistwoarmsandflungthemroundtheGiant’sneck,andkissedhim.Andtheotherchildren,whentheysawthattheGiantwasnotwickedanylonger,camerunningback,andwiththemcametheSpring."Itisyourgardennow,littlechildren,"saidtheGiant,andhetookagreataxeandknockeddownthewall.Andwhenthepeopleweregoingtomarketattwelveo’clocktheyfoundtheGiantplayingwiththechildreninthemostbeautifulgardentheyhadeverseen.
