ForafewsecondsBeckywasalmostspeechlesswithadmiration.Thenshesaidinanawedvoice,"OnctIseeaprincess.Iwasstandin’inthestreetwiththecrowdoutsideCovin’Garden,watchin’theswellsgointertheoperer.An’therewasoneeveryonestaredatmost.Theysestoeachother,’That’stheprincess.’Shewasagrowed-upyounglady,butshewaspinkallover—gowndan’cloak,an’flowersan’all.IcalledhertomindtheminnitIseeyou,sittin’thereonthetable,miss.Youlookedlikeher."
