Harry’swholebodywentnumb.Dumbledorewaslookingunusuallygrave. Hestareddownhisverycrookednoseatthem,andHarrysuddenlyfoundhimselfwishingheandRonwerestillbeingbeatenupbytheWhompingWillow.
Therewasalongsilence.ThenDumbledoresaid, "Pleaseexplainwhyyoudidthis."
Itwouldhavebeenbetterifhehadshouted. Harryhatedthedisappointmentinhisvoice.Forsomereason,hewasunabletolookDumbledoreintheeyes,andspokeinsteadtohisknees. HetoldDumbledoreeverythingexceptthatMr.Weasleyownedthebewitchedcar,makingitsoundasthoughheandRonhadhappenedtofindaflyingcarparkedoutsidethestation. HeknewDumbledorewouldseethroughthisatonce,butDumbledoreaskednoquestionsaboutthecar.WhenHarryhadfinished,hemerelycontinuedtopeeratthemthroughhisspectacles.
"We’llgoandgetourstuff,"saidRoninahopelesssortofvoice.
"Whatareyoutalkingabout,Weasley?"barkedProfessorMcGonagall.
"Well,you’reexpellingus,aren’tyou?"saidRon.
HarrylookedquicklyatDumbledore.
