           InthesecondweekofDecemberProfessorMcGonagallcamearoundasusual,collectingnamesofthosewhowouldbestayingatschoolforChristmas. Harry,Ron,andHermionesignedherlist;theyhadheardthatMalfoywasstaying,whichstruckthemasverysuspicious. TheholidayswouldbetheperfecttimetousethePolyjuicePotionandtrytowormaconfessionoutofhim. 

           Unfortunately,thepotionwasonlyhalffinished.Theystillneededthebicornhornandtheboomslangskin,andtheonlyplacetheyweregoingtogetthemwasfromSnape’sprivatestores.
