           "Lizzie,"shereplied,softeningtowardhim,herhandpressinghisarm,whileherbodyleanedagainsthis. "LizzieConnolly. AndIliveatFifthan’Market." 

           Hetalkedonafewminutesbeforesayinggoodnight. Hedidnotgohomeimmediately; andunderthetreewherehekepthisvigilshelookedupatawindowandmurmured: "Thatdatewaswithyou,Ruth. Ikeptitforyou."
