Hefoldedthemjustso,puttheproperstampsinsidethelongenvelopealongwiththemanuscript,sealedtheenvelope,putmorestampsoutside,anddroppeditintothemail-box. Ittravelledacrossthecontinent,andafteracertainlapseoftimethepostmanreturnedhimthemanuscriptinanotherlongenvelope,ontheoutsideofwhichwerethestampshehadenclosed.
