Рапунцель

           Sohewentinthetwilightagain;andashewasclimbingback,hesaw,allatonce,thewitchstandingbeforehim,andwasterriblyfrightened,asshecried,withangryeyes, "Howdareyouclimboverintomygardenlikeathief,andstealmyrampion! Itshallbetheworseforyou!" 

           "Oh,"answeredhe,"bemercifulratherthanjust,Ihaveonlydoneitthroughnecessity; formywifesawyourrampionoutofthewindow,andbecamepossessedwithsogreatalongingthatshewouldhavediedifshecouldnothavehadsometoeat." Thenthewitchsaid, "Ifitisallasyousayyoumayhaveasmuchrampionasyoulike,ononecondition-thechildthatwillcomeintotheworldmustbegiventome. Itshallgowellwiththechild,andIwillcareforitlikeamother." 

           Inhisdistressofmindthemanpromisedeverything; andwhenthetimecamewhenthechildwasbornthewitchappeared,and,givingthechildthenameofRapunzel(whichisthesameasrampion),shetookitawaywithher. 

           Rapunzelwasthemostbeautifulchildintheworld. Whenshewastwelveyearsoldthewitchshutherupinatowerinthemidstofawood,andithadneitherstepsnordoor,onlyasmallwindowabove. Whenthewitchwishedtobeletin,shewouldstandbelowandwouldcry, 

           "Rapunzel,Rapunzel! Letdownyourhair!"
